MOSS Image Base vs SFT — Which Should You Use?

Start with a practical goal

Base and SFT are separate checkpoints in the MOSS-Image family. The hosted generator here uses the SFT model exposed by fal.ai. If you need direct access to weights or a custom training workflow, review the model cards and upstream repository.

Compare your actual workload

Build a small prompt set with your own poster, product, and illustration tasks. Use the same dimensions and record all sampling settings. Review text accuracy, unwanted objects, composition, and the amount of editing required afterward.

Avoid a universal winner

One appealing example does not establish overall superiority. Repeat several seeds for each prompt, keep failed results, and assess the full set. A model that handles your brand typography may not be the best choice for every photographic scene.
